Satellite Telephones

We offer satellite telephones for our customer's safety!

Approximately 20% of Namibia has cellular telephone
coverage, mainly limited to towns and some main roads.

A SatPhone allows calls to be made and received from any location world wide and is not restricted to cellular coverage as it allows the user to communicate directly via satellite, to any other telephone. This is especially useful when driving to remote areas.
Each SatPhone is pre-programmed with emergency numbers, so no matter
where you may find yourself, help is only a SatPhone call away.
Prices for our Iridium satellite telephones are available on request.

Welcome in Namibia

Please take note that there have been a high number of road accidents involving European visitors, many of which have been fatal.

Avoid:

  • Driving at night (also at dawn and dusk) because there is a real danger of stray animals crossing to road.
  • Driving over 80km/h on the gravel roads because they are very slippery.

Remember:

  • Drive on the left side.
  • Keep your lights on at all times, so you can be seen in dusty or low visibility conditions.
  • Make sure that you are fully insured: vehicle, driver & passengers.
  • Make sure that your motor vehicle insurance also covers driving on gravel roads within Namibia and neighboring countries.
  • Carry plenty of drinking water.
  • Keep your fuel tank topped up.
  • As distances are long, take as many breaks as you can. However, take care at roadside picnic stops, robberies have occurred.
  • Carry a first aid kit.
  • Punctures are common. If possible carry 2 spare tyres.

Have a safe drive!
